KRONOS

KRONOS is Chainplug's governance discipline for change. It makes the transformation of a system measurable, its architectural evolution auditable, and its constitutional state a matter of record rather than recollection.

Why transformation must be measurable

Systems in high-trust domains do not fail in a single moment. They drift — one accommodation at a time, each defensible in isolation. Unless transformation is measured against a written standard, drift is indistinguishable from progress.

KRONOS assigns each transformation a scope, a stated objective and an explicit set of conditions that must hold at the end. A change either satisfies those conditions or it does not; the outcome is not a matter of opinion at review time.

Why architectural evolution must be auditable

Auditability means a later reader can reconstruct not only what changed, but why it was permitted. Each KRONOS pass records the constitutional question it answered, the surfaces it touched, what was removed, and what was deliberately deferred to another property.

This is the same standard Chainplug applies to evidence inside its systems, turned inward. A company that asks professionals to trust traceable reasoning must be able to show the traceable reasoning behind its own architecture.

Why products receive Constitutional Records

Every product in the ecosystem carries a Constitutional Record: the durable account of its constitutional role, what it inherits from the Constitutional Core, what it is forbidden to merchandise or claim, and the sequence of passes that brought it to its current state.

The Record is what makes governance portable across time and people. New contributors do not inherit intent by conversation; they inherit it by reading what was decided and why.

Why Constitutional Freeze exists

A Constitutional Freeze declares a foundation stable: the doctrine is recorded at a version, and further work builds on it rather than relitigating it. Freeze is not the end of thinking — it is the boundary that keeps execution from being consumed by permanent redefinition.

A frozen foundation can be superseded, but only explicitly, by a new recorded version. Nothing changes quietly.

KRONOS is authored and maintained by Chainplug S.r.l. and applies to the whole ecosystem. It is defined here, once; other properties reference this page rather than restating it. Governance under KRONOS concerns architecture and disclosure — it is not a certification, an audit opinion, or a substitute for qualified professional judgement.
